In Loving Memory of J. Anthony (Tony) Hepburn

It is with both sadness and gratitude that we commemorate the life of our colleague and friend, J. Anthony (Tony) Hepburn, who passed away on August 5, 2022.

As President and CEO for 23 years, and then as Chairman for 17 more, Tony was instrumental in the growth and evolution of Odlum Brown. His unwavering commitment to preserving the firm’s independence and values while adapting to an ever-changing industry laid the foundation for our firm’s continuing success.

Alongside his distinguished role of Chair Emeritus, Tony continued to serve his valued clients with the utmost care as a Portfolio Manager right up until his passing. To his colleagues who knew and loved him, Tony was also a constant source of support, guidance and mentorship.

Tony influenced the Canadian investment community through his extensive volunteerism on numerous boards and advisory committees, both industry related and philanthropic, and was a recipient of the Chancellor’s Distinguished Service Award from Simon Fraser University.

For 53 years, Tony graced Odlum Brown with his wisdom, kindness and leadership, and our firm will continue to feel his impact for decades to come. On behalf of all of us at Odlum Brown, we extend our sincerest condolences to the Hepburn family and to all the colleagues and friends who were fortunate to know him.
