Brent obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2005. The CFA curriculum focuses on global investment knowledge with a strong emphasis on professional standards and ethics.

As an experienced Portfolio Manager, Brent has the knowledge and expertise to help his clients achieve their financial goals through discretionary portfolio management.
Portfolios are customized for each client utilizing fixed income securities and individual stocks, drawing primarily from the investment research produced by the Odlum Brown research team, with an emphasis on the Odlum Brown Model Portfolio. The OB Model Portfolio was established in 1994 and has generated excellent long-term results. Its value-driven, contrarian strategy has contributed to strong relative returns during market downturns, while also performing well in rising markets.
Professional History
Prior to joining Odlum Brown, Brent was a Portfolio Manager at a Canadian chartered bank where he managed investment portfolios for high net worth clients and institutions. He also held the role of Senior Consultant for a bank owned firm, specializing in the measurement of investment performance for some of the largest institutional investors in western Canada. Brent was previously a Branch Manager for a national mutual fund company. He started his investment career in 1993 as an Investment Analyst in Bangkok, Thailand. Brent attended Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario where he received a BA majoring in economics.
In 1986, Brent discovered Vancouver, moving from Toronto and never looked back.
