Relationships Matter

Tannis prides herself on creating strong relationships with her clients by learning about their personal story, history, and current situation. With time and in-depth conversations, trust and confidence is developed. Goals and client priorities are openly identified and then a plan is created to reach those objectives. An overall wealth plan becomes the focus, not just a concentration on individual investments.

Background

Having grown up in a home where both parents successfully owned small businesses, an entrepreneurial spirit was instilled in Tannis. When she joined her mother in running and growing their business, Tannis experienced first-hand many of the challenges and issues faced by small business owners such as cash management, business exit strategies, and the importance of being disciplined about planning for retirement.

When the business was sold, Tannis further explored her interests in investing. She began her career in the financial industry in 1999 with TD Waterhouse. In 2001, she was recruited to join the start-up team at Qtrade Investor. With a broad range of experience, Tannis chose to specialize in portfolio management and financial planning, where she could work directly with clients.

Joining Odlum Brown in 2003, Tannis now works with select individuals, families, and corporations to help them achieve their financial goals. She brings her strengths in strategic financial and retirement planning to the STM Wealth Management team.
